Welcome To The Land Of Egrets

I have arrived 7 days ago, but like any other traveling adventure (or in my case, a settling down adventure), I was too overwhelmed by the reencountered culture shock and meeting with all kinds of people, procedures, systems and of course, my Xiamen bitch. Don’t get me wrong, I was not complaining about it, it was simply just because I have too many things on my hands and I couldnt’ put my fingers on all of them all the time together.

Xiamen, hasn’t change much, or has it? sure they have more high rise buildings, more high ways, more cars, more people. But overall, I find it very much the same image I had taken in my head some 4 years ago. The place I am currently stay in temporary is the high street and the city urban feel is very strong. I wonder if I really want to get convenience and sacrifice peace of home. And my budget is really not applicable in getting any good ones over this area (actually so does almost all places in Xiamen….) so it is really a tug of war of gives and takes here right now….

Dell on the other hand, has changed a lot, I hardly recognize from where I left out and I thought I was following the advertising campaigns of its product. Apparently the restructuring has created a whole new company and I find myself a little lost in adapting to it after first week. And my boss’s expectation is as high as my previous company (you know what company) Then of course, a lot of my ex-colleagues are still here, and I am even sitting in the same area with them, and I also realize they are all ladies….. sigh sigh, again, happy to be back and happy to have a new job with better pay, let alone another lousy job….

Xiamen is not perfect, but it is still good. I should really keep that in mind.

not typical cloudy sky; yummy but spicy koayteow; china brand cigarretes; and Shawn with Scully
