Angkor Impression
I was pretty blur when I got out from the plane because I was still in need of some more sleep. By the time we reached Ei8ht Rooms guesthouse, only I get a little more sober and we made a deal with a driver - Kim Heng for an air-con van on 2.5 days with $90. It is not the cheapest you can find, but we just make do since it was within the budget.

Our first meal was at Old Market with one of the local shop, I had some pork rice with iced coffee, cost $2, a pretty acceptable range but still relatively expensive if you compare with location with KL. But everything there use USD, and the number looks smaller and sounds cheaper, so it is sometimes hard to adjust myself.
We had a stroll at the Old Market and all the shops were selling the same kind of souvenirs, let alone I suspect they were all from the same suppliers. It was getting hot there and I started to realize how my journey was going to be. And it seemed like the heat got into them faster as they were complaining to get back to the guesthouse for air con.

The driver then took us to Tonle Sap lake, but I inclined to follow for a $15 boat ride, so I slept in his van and just take a rest from the heat outside. In fact I was right, they were disappointed by the 1 hour trip and show frowny faces to me…
$40 for 3 day pass, and we were on the go to see the famous Angkor Wat. And indeed, too many people have the similar interest as we found lots and lots of tourists there. And it rained right before we went pass the first gate, giving a little delay yet some refreshment from the heat though. Angkor Wat, if look from far, is a nice building, and quite well preserved, but after you’ve seen too much of it you’ll get bored by the same color of rocks and same pattern in its carving. For the first time, I was still quite interested in exploring the temple with the rest of the crowds. It was, somehow, indeed, a magnificent structure.

At night we had some local steamboat buffet ($4 + drink), it was so so, I only enjoyed the spring roll which was so crunchy and freshly smelled by the spice. And we had ice cream at Blue Pumpkin ($2.75) before going back to rest. I thought I slept by 10pm that night… it was that tired!
