Phone Stolen In The Locker
Maybe I should call it fate.
Maybe I should put it as a disaster avoidance according to fengshui.
My handphone (and money) was stolen in the gym locker on Saturday.
Normally I don’t carry my wallet or handphone to the gym, but on Saturday I was supposed to meet up with BB Alvin for shopping after gym, so I took everything: extra money, handphone, credit cards, IC, only I didn’t pick up my ATM card. And I did work out for almost an hour before going back to the locker to get my headset, that time I didn’t really check if my phone was still there although they are put in the same pocket in my bag. Then after another 45 mins I went back for shower I still didn’t check, not until I finished changing and packing things up did I realize my phone were gone~
There was no sign of breaking into my locker, everything looks the same, and my wallet with money and IC and credit card were still there, and there were in the same pocket as well. (Afterwards I realize I lost a RM50 note as well but 5 or 6 RM10 were still inside). I searched for awhile and after BB Alvin and Kian called and get into voicemail, we realized it was stolen (without a trace).
I was upset I didn’t have mood when I reported this to the reception, and Sean at the reception seemed didn’t know what to do with that. He only took a small paper without asking any much questions, he didn’t even ask about my locker number or my phone model all these details. I knew from there that they are probably not going to do anything with that and got me even more upset.
But I am not sure if I should consider this occurance as fortunate in the unfortunate event.
1) Because I was able to call up Maxis to bar my number and re-register again with the same number (save all the fuss of getting a new number and recontact all my friends),
2) and the thief actually didn’t utilize my RM50 prepaid money,
3) and I just recently synced all my contacts into my macbook (that really is lucky),
4) and the thief didn’t take my IC or credit card numbers and severals of my RM10 notes. (otherwise it would be so much more fuss~!)
With this misfortune experience, I think I am going to urge Fitness First to install some ledges for member to use their own padlocks, maybe this would help.
