Lonely Crocodile

I watched Rogue in DVD in Penang. When I first saw the preview at GSC I was stamped with the impression that this is a B to C-class film and I was pretty sure it was like a lame low budget movie and I wouldn’t want to watch anyway anyhow. And furthermore I figure the scene of seeing a crocodile is less than a minute from the entire film.

Well, I was not entirely wrong. First it was a low budget movie, yet not bad in production, it was an Australian film, so I didn’t see the exposure from the hollywood websites I usually served. Second, the scene of having a whole crocodile is about 5 mins, not less than a minute. Still it didn’t mean that the movie sucks or anyhow, in fact I found it quite good.

The director used a very realistic way to measure a crocodile’s lifestyle and behavior, unlike those super monster movie, this one is actually using a possible reality fact to scare you. And it got you so easily disappointed for the victims as one by one they got conned by the natural hunter. Of course the ending is surreal, still I would say it is so much better than a few A class movies that I wanted to throw up for them.

3 stars, for the sake of a natural predator, a good music score, a tensed but beautiful nature and God, not forgetting a handsome but equally dead swollen actor (dunno his name but saw his bare butt though)
