Don’t Watch Golden Compass
It’s a waste of RM11 if you go GSC, RM10 if Cineleisure, less if others but what’s good to watch in a cinema at all anyway.
The movie is as it advertised, a wild fantasy, a combination of Lord of the Rings, and Narnia, Pirates of Caribbean and Dr Doolittle. But the director failed to deliver a standard Hollywood style action adventure (let alone he’s a British) and I am pretty disappointed that a good genre like this go on waste.
Some elements that I really enjoyed which I hope it would go further but didn’t:
1) Daemon - the impression of having your soul separated out from your body and having an image of an animal is simply irresistible to me, let alone it could transform this and that during a childhood years. I wish I could have like a stag or something giant herbivore.
2) Polar Bear - To be able to ride a polar bear is every child’s dream, it’s great. And Ian Mckellen did a great job, and the bear reminded me much of Gandalf, hehe.
3) Ok, there’s no more. I thought for quite long time, and nothing really came up. So that’s it lor.
The bad things about the movie, it was moving too fast, too random, without any connection between scenes. And story was not well told, I didn’t like it, even though I didn’t read the book. Anyway. I didn’t like it, that’s that.

wah i havent watch oready have one bad comment on this movie…. haha…. i c review from headmaster blog, he say it quite nice lor…. so i think i must watch 1st b4 i can comment lor…….
