1 Down 3 Up

I went to Ikano with Alvin and bought an algae eater to control my brown algae infested fish tank. I am not 100% which one I bought, it could be a Chinese Algae Eater (notorious one), a Siamese Algae Eater (better but bigger), or an Otocinclus (best of breed). I think I’ve got the Otocat (RM3.50), becasue this picture looks exactly like the one I have and the good thing is they can only grow up to 5cm. And it is already started to work very gracefully in my tank, for this I will call him (I pressume) Popeye.

And then Alvin insisted that one should go to a fish shop and buy more than 2 fish if any will be purchased. So he volunteered to buy me another 2 fish, just to balance up the Octocat that I bought so that the shopkeeper won’t look down upon us (yes I know it’s pretty lame, but we don’t discuss about his mentality here). So after a quick browse, he decided to get me 2 balloon Red Eye Tetra (RM2.00). I couldn’t find the balloon one in the internet, but it’s exactly like Red Eye Tetra (behaves alike too), only a wider body instead of a slender one. They are notorious grass nibbing fish and will also attack the fin of other slow fish. I saw it just now actually fighting with my furious Serpea Tetra, what a scene. For this I will call them Roxy & Velma (in remembrance of Chicago~).

Bad news is Fergie is dying! When I got home I found her being weak and her belly developed some fungus like white spot, quickly I changed her into a qurantined tank and gave it some salt. She’s fighting very bravely after 3 hours but started to roll over with her belly up. And I notice the fungus on her belly was gone but instead there was some red spot on her belly now. I suspect it is some kind of internal bleeding caused by the extreme stink from the salt. I really hope she would get better because she would be my livebearer breeder.

Also I have bought a plant but I couldn’t recognize if it’s a Copragrass (micro sword grass) or a Pygmy Chain Sword, it cost me RM6 (really expansive) and I started to plant it in my tank, in hope than they will thrive and spread on my gravel floor to form a certain lawn like garden, then it would be really nice fish tank I have.. happy~

the right is micro sword grass, while bottom is pygmy chain sword, can you see the difference?
