Watching Television

Below happened from 2130 to 0300.

AXN was on Fear Factor which a program I used to like some several years ago, but now it has become less and less logical and more like asking ordinary people to do boombastic stunts or eat gruesome stuff or self torture for ratings. The one I was watching showed 3 couples having to do stunts on a glass floating of the air hanging by a helicopter, and the next one having to shave all their heads, and the third some explosive stuff which I did not have interest to continue watching.

Two stewardess, or at least they dressed like it, coming to Malaysia tasting and introducing some cuisine. I wasn’t so much of their Cameron trip, but was quite keen to see what they commented about Penang food. They talked about BahKutTeh (a local chinese cuisine with port and chinese herb) which made me wanted to eat suddenly. But apparently WaLai channel (channel 30) has too many commercial break and I decided to switch station.

Tonight was World Chinese new artist singing competition, Malaysia has 3 contestants, but I didn’t bother to watch because it was boring, so channel was switched.

Animal Planet was showing Blue Planet, a fabulous show, having so many species of fish and whales, it was amazing how they took the video, and that episode was about small fish eats planktons, bigger fish eats small fish, and sharks eats everything. I once was facisnated by animals, including fish in the ocean, and this program got me the feeling all over again, it was great!

Channel 11 Travel & Living was showcasing High Roller’s life in London, where rich people how would they buy expensive houses and buy expensive things, it was the luxury life that I will never attend to.

Discovery channel shown about the Water project, how many country fought to get water, while some tried to get rid of water. It has Chinese Three Gorges dam project going, it has the Oman aflaj, it has the Venice trying to get rid of rising tides, and it has Abu Dhabi how they capture water from thin air from their aqua theater project. A phrase during the show “Some people just open their tap and clean fresh water flowing out like magic, but for some they fought 5000 years just to taste a sip.”

There’s also Venom ER, I think it was from Animal Planet, some American were bitten by rattle snake and the doctor (really cute one, hehe) was trying to save him. I now know there are about 6 species of rattle snake, but forgot all their names. :P

I flipped about some channels and landed on this one, a ghost story telling Taiwanese channel, it was scary, I was so scared (it was around 1am and I was the only one in the living room with no lights on) I actually have tears in my eyes, and once I imagined there was a hand coming out behind me from the wall and grab my neck trying to strangle me. So in order for me to let go the idea of ghost, I kept on watching TV.

Miami Ink, from Travel & Living about a bunch of people opening a tattoo shop and showcasing every different case of their client and their art. Initially I always think tattoo is for rascal people, but eventually now it has become a trend, a culture for humanity. I know it is terribly painful to have a tattoo, but surprising so many people are willing to take up the challenge and face their fear for beautfy (some might not agree, like me). I never really thought of getting a tattoo, except the time when I was in Thailand trying to convince myself to get a Bangkok above my butt, but after watching the show, I still didn’t think I will do it, yet i did imagine one day I would put one. There’s a guy having his son’s name tattoo on his chest, and he actually ask his son to write directly to make it tattooed, in this way, not only he got his son’s name, also his handwriting, I found it really sweet and maybe I would do that one day too.

At his hour, all the channels were repeating all the programs that I was watching earlier. But eventually I got to National Geographic and it was the construction of Burj Al Arab, the extremely famous 7 star sail-like hotel in Dubai. I got glued to the show and was really impressed with all their ideas and obstacles to overcome along the construction. From the base, to the design to the architechture and lastly to the interior design. And do you know the interior design was made by a Chinese lady, Khuan Chew who’s from UK. She was pretty impressive, I suddenly understand why some people are being workaholic, because they create really impressive stuff. But of course there are many workaholics out there are plain hollow and couldn’t archieve anything, those we like to call them losers.

Finally I flipped back to Channel 11 and Aisha was doing some Perth globe trekker, she made me think that she’s a slut, because she was a hypocrite and always flirt with the guys there. I wonder if she gets a fuck for every white male she met in her expedition (if it wasn’t traveling, then must be sex). hehe

I couldn’t stand it anymore and decided to call it a night, it was a great night plain lazy watching tele, but I’ve got some really useful information and knowledge.
